Tourbillon 2

signifies the maturity of our most prolific movement development project. We listened to our community when they asked for a more refined dial to showcase our K-TOU movement.  Featuring 3 dial options, a Hand Made in Switzerland Grand Feu enamel dial, a deep blue Livre de Durrow-inspired dial and a limited edition Meteorite dial. All dials can be matched to premium and precious metal cases to ensure enthusiasts at varying ends of the financial spectrum could take part.

THE PAST MEETS THE FUTURE

Blending past and future, the Tourbillon 2's intricate details reflect watchmaking heritage and innovation. Whether the pristine Grand Feu enamel dial matched to a 18k gold case recalling vintage pocket watches, the blue dial taking inspiration from an ancient Irish manuscript matched to the sleek stainless steel case and bracelet for a contemporary allure, or the out-of-this world limited edition meteorite dial matched to the white gold case, there is a combination that will appeal to the modernist or the traditionalist.

As a diverse community, we unite around great design and unrivalled quality. The Tourbillon 2 showcases our prowess as an integrated manufacturer. Grand Feu enamel dials demand meticulous hand-craftsmanship, and their timeless beauty complements the most coveted complication. For many, that defines a luxury timepiece. The textured blue dial modernises a medieval treasure and Meteorite demands care and attention with this rare other-worldly material.

Remarkably accessible for Swiss in-house tourbillons, these achievements crystallize our journey as an independent watchmaker. Blending heritage with cutting-edge capabilities, the Tourbillon 2 collection has broad appeal while advancing haute horology. We continue to innovate while respecting traditions that endure across generations.

CLASSIC WITH A MODERN TWIST

All three dials share the hand-drawn Arabic numerals and indices,

taking muse from watch components and the large flying tourbillon is on display at 6 o’clock. The dials are finished with a detailed 60 seconds track around the aperture. A blued screw on the tourbillon cage acts as a running seconds indicator, the cage rotating once every 60 seconds. The Grand Feu and Livre de Durrow feature a power reserve indicator at 2 o-clock, whilst the Meteorite dial forgoes this, to allow the full glory of the unique meteorite structure to shine.

GRAND FEU ENAMEL

The intricate white Grand Feu enamel dial involves fusing layers of glass onto a metal base at extremely high temperatures.

"Grand Feu" means "Great Fire" in French, referring to the precise yet unforgiving process. Up to 75% of enamel dials fail during production as applying the silica powder layers risks irreparable flaws or damage. When successful, the deep, glassy enamel surface is virtually impossible to replicate.

The Tourbillon 2's pristine Grand Feu dial provides an optimal background for the blue hands, numerals, indicator, and titanium tourbillon. Legibility is excellent with vintage pocket watch appeal.

Originating in 17th-century France and Switzerland, enamel dials exemplify horology artistry.

We partnered with Switzerland's most prestigious enamel dial artisan to create these ornate pieces. Whether paired with the 18k gold case and leather strap or steel case and bracelet, the immaculate white dial matches the tourbillon calibre's beauty. These museum-worthy enamels represent the pinnacle of delicate craftsmanship. Our Tourbillon 2 collection propels a centuries-old tradition into the future with an enamel dial that would make our forebears proud.

METEORITE

Meteorite; the other-worldly material,

born of millions of years travelling through space, then fracturing away from it parent comet, surviving the torturous journey though earths protective atmosphere, the friction, pressure, and chemical interactions with the gases in our atmosphere heating it up, it radiates that energy.

At that point a meteor is born, the fireball streaking across the sky, a shooting star; the brightest are called bolides. These dials are carefully cut from an Iron Meteorite that was found in Sweden, it is then crafted into a dial in Switzerland.

Unlike most meteorite dials, we use a solid 0.8mm thick piece of meteorite for the dial, as opposed the more common veneer over a brass plate. This depth of material allows for the best contrast and effect of the Widmanstatten pattern.

For best contrast against the unique Widmanstatten pattern of the material the Arabic numerals and indices are white, while the hands are brushed rhodium plated steel.

Only 25 examples of this watch will be produced, making it one of the most limited of Horage’s releases to date, very fitting for such a rare material.

LIVRE DE DURROW

Livre de Durrow is the “Book of Durrow” in English

and what’s known as an illuminated manuscript, dating back to around the 8th century. It’s illustrated in the Insular script style, which is a medieval script system from Ireland. The gospels contain varied illustrations and a unique lined pattern which inspired the texture of our blue dialled Tourbillon 2. It’s contemporary with an old-world charm and provides a sporty aesthetic when paired with the stainless steel case and the steel bracelet. For best contrast, the Arabic numerals and indices are white, while the hands are silver.

PREMIUM & PRECIOUS METAL

We start with a very wearable 41mm case, with the choice of 3 premium metals to choose from - 904L stainless steel, 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold. The Stainless Steel case features 904L grade which is superior to 316L with respect to corrosion and pitting resistance, also being able to be polished to a richer sheen. The white gold has a soft lustre, whilst the yellow gold has a rich, warm colouration. A sapphire crystal with multiple anti-reflective coatings protects the dial, while a sapphire exhibition case back displays the latest Horage K-TOU tourbillon movement. Lug width is 22mm and lug-to-lug is 47.8mm

The 18K yellow and white gold cases are mounted on a black patterned salmon skin leather strap together with a 18K yellow gold or Stainless Steel and micro-fibre carbon composite clasp. The clasp features 7mm of micro-adjustment. The 904L stainless steel case comes mounted on a sporty 904L stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp.

OUR MOST ADVANCED K-TOU TOURBILLON CALIBRE

Our in-house K-TOU Tourbillon movement is a hand-wound calibre that powers all models.

It features a lightweight titanium flying tourbillon cage with a silicon escapement and hairspring, 120-hour power reserve (5 days) and a power reserve indicator at 2 o’clock (not on the Meteorite dial). The 5-day power reserve (via one barrel) is a testament to the efficiency of this movement, the tourbillon cage being only 0.29 grams and 3.9mm thick, despite having 43 components. At just 0.29 grams, this titanium cage is one of the lightest in the world and a marvel of micro-mechanical engineering.

Movement finishing includes a black PVD treatment and our signature grid pattern, along with hand brushing. Invented in 1795, the tourbillon brings the balance wheel and escapement together in a rotating cage to counteract the forces of gravity by constantly shifting the position of these regulating elements. This ultimately improves accuracy, particularly back when pocket watches remained static in a pocket. Although hundreds of years old, the tourbillon is still one of the hardest complications to design, manufacture and perfect. Horage is one of the very few independents today to develop an entirely new tourbillon calibre.
