A long-term partnership where we help bring together a diverse group of talented, international musicians. To celebrate their craft and bask in the sumptuous layers of harmony they can collectively create. For this special 10th Anniversary concert, we again serve a delicious mix of classical and romantic masterpieces. Musicians from across Europe and Asia performing with an eclectic mix of instruments, a sure guarantee for an enriching evening full of musical surprises. 

 

The 2026 10th Anniversary ensemble in detail:

South Korean violinist SongHa Choi has gained widespread acclaim for her passionate and imaginative performances. A laureate of the 2024 Queen Elisabeth Competition, she has earned numerous awards, including the Prix Reyl at the 2024 Verbier Festival and the Ana Chumachenco Award at the 2023 Kronberg Festival. 

As a soloist, SongHa has performed with major orchestras such as the Belgian National Orchestra, Montreal Symphony, and Lithuanian National Symphony, as well as South Korean ensembles like the KBS Symphony Orchestra.  

A prominent chamber musician, she has performed at major festivals, including Verbier, Gstaad Menuhin, and Kronberg. Her festival appearances span Europe, Asia, and North America.  

SongHa studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK under Lutsia Ibragimova and continues her training at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Kolja Blacher.

Carlos Giménez Martínez is a Spanish virtuoso saxophonist, widely regarded as one of the most promising talents of his generation. Known for his exceptional musicianship, he has performed both as a soloist and with prestigious orchestras worldwide. Carlos has won several international competitions in France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and China, cementing his status as a standout saxophonist. 

He made his solo orchestral debut at the Palau de la Música de València in 2012 at just 19 years old. Since then, he has performed with renowned orchestras and wind ensembles. In 2018, he performed Concertino da Camera by Jacques Ibert and Verdiana by A. Schor with a chamber orchestra in Hamburg. In 2021, he recorded Debussy's Rhapsody for Saxophone and Orchestra with the Zemlinsky Chamber Orchestra and has also performed Glazunov's Saxophone Concerto with several Philharmonic Wind Orchestras in Spain. 

Carlos continues to expand his soloist career, with ongoing collaborations with orchestras across Europe and beyond.

Jang Li is a professional harmonica virtuoso and composer from Taiwan. He is a three-time World Champion at the World Harmonica Festival, winning in Jazz Chromatic, Diatonic (blues/rock/folk/country), and Harmonica Trio categories. He is also a two-time Composition Award winner at the Hong Kong International Composition Competition for works for chromatic harmonica with piano and chamber orchestra. 

Critics praise his expressive playing and exceptional breath control, highlighting both his lyrical tone and technical precision. Renowned harmonica maestro Dror Adler also recognizes Jang Li as a composer whose original works elevate the harmonica to its highest artistic potential.Jang Li will be playing his composition “Brightness Hiding Fantasy” for the first time in Europe at the Berlin Philharmonie, in his own words “A dream come true”.

Greco-German cellist Alexander Wollheim (*2000, Berlin) began his musical training at the age of four, studying piano, violin, voice, and theory before turning to the cello at seven with Wayne Foster-Smith, his teacher for ten years. Since 2017, he has studied cello with Prof. Danjulo Ishizaka at the Universität der Künste Berlin, alongside composition studies with Prof. Sebastian Stier at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. 

He has participated in master classes with leading cellists including Ulrich Voss, Troels Svane, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, and others. An active chamber musician, Wollheim has performed widely in Germany and abroad, including concerts in Berlin and Athens, and has been a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin since 2019. 

Together with pianist Jay Myung, he explores lesser-known repertoire and won first prize at the International Competition for Ostracized Music in Schwerin (2018). As a soloist, he received second prize at the Gabrielli Competition at UdK Berlin (2019) and is a finalist at the Stockport International Young Musicians Competition. He plays a cello by Nicolas Vuillaume (ca. 1860), kindly loaned by the SINFONIMA Stiftung Mannheim.

Philipp Thönes is a piano student of Professor Bernd Zack at the Young Academy Rostock (YARO) of the Rostock University of Music and Drama. He began his musical training at the age of five at the Rostock Conservatory with Larissa Dragunowa and later studied with Professor Karl-Heinz Will. 

At 13, he won second prize at the International Vítězslav Novák Piano Competition (2015), returning in 2017 to win first prize with maximum score and a special award for his interpretation of Novák. The same year, he also won first prize with the highest possible score at Germany’s national competition Jugendmusiziert, leading to an invitation by NDR to perform in Hamburg. 

He has participated in the “Young Artists in Residence” scholarship at the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, performed with the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and recently attended a master class with Douglas Humpherys.
